Fishing from Sunset Landing and the Welaka area is some of the best in the world. Numerous 10 lb. plus Large Mouth Bass are caught in the area waters every year. Large Speckled Perch "Specks" are a favorite target in the area around Sunset Landing. It is also common to catch your limit on Crappie and Blue Gill before the sun rises too high. Then turn our attention to huge Stripped Bass before the sun gets too low.

Some of the fishing hot spots near Sunset Landing are the Ocklawaha River, famous for the large Bass caught in the River. The Croaker Hole and the large Strippers that are caught out of it. Little Lake George and Big Lake George hold numerous species of Bass, Pan fish and catfish!! Rodman Reservoir, a few miles up the Ocklawaha River is the location of many major Bass tournaments because of the Giant Bass caught from it's waters. And Lake Crescent, just a short trip up Dunns Creek, is some of the best Speck fishing in Florida! And these are just a few of the area fishing attractions so come and fish one of these spots or find your own Honey Hole along the Fabulous St. Johns River!
